We all have a unique perception of the world around us. None of us have lived the same circumstances, the same way. Two people living the same events, will still have completely different memories, experiences, and emotions. They may have similar reactions, and quite possibly have felt the same type of emotion, but the memories are never the same. They are not the same. They can’t be.

God often speaks of our uniqueness. The qualities in which we are created, but the choices we get to make, defining our character. I think, one of the hardest things for those who don’t know God yet, is to accept that He granted us free will. They imagine a God who stands idly by watching destruction, disease, and death without so much as a blinking an eye. They fail to acknowledge, that in order for it to matter, He gave us the freedom to choose or reject Him. And, with that choice, chaos, disease, famine, death…they exist.

We have lost our appreciation for that luxury, and in turn have polluted the world of opportunity that God intended us to have. Our current world morphing into an unrecognizable plane. Accountability ceasing when choice leads to consequence. We exist in a place, where there is a label for everything you can imagine, and an excuse for every behavior and action. Where boundaries and expectations can be set and removed without concern. A place where false perception is essential for worldly happiness.

As Christians, we believe that God has the ability to restore, heal, redeem, regenerate…, so why does God’s sovereignty end where our doubt begins? ” How can we attend church every Sunday and hear about miracles, promises, restoration, redemption, and still reject all that He has offered? All that He has given. Is it the way we perceive the world, or the way we perceive God that changes our want or ability to accept His gifts?

I’ve witnessed so many moments of joy and love, lost when perception shifts to the worldly. Relying, and defining ourselves by labels generated by a broken and fallen world. Embracing the failure you read in statistics and prescription bottles. We are fully capable of shifting our perception and opening our eyes to the clear picture God has already established for us. The beautiful life He wanted for us, fully attainable.
