There is a dividing line among many believers, that the law supersedes Christ’s sacrifice. Our salvation confirmed or denied by the weight of our sin and the consistency of our obedience. There are many different ways to believe, worship, and pray, but the Bible is clear on how we obtain salvation. By accepting Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we solidify our position in grace. Available to all, without a cost, as the debt has already been paid.
The apostle Paul addressed this issue in his letter to the churches in Galatia. During this time, the Gentiles were being instructed to follow Jewish law by false teachers, who claimed salvation only came through obedience to the law. Paul refuted that teaching by reminding them of the truth of the gospel and of God’s promises both before and after Christ died on the cross. He knew that we couldn’t be saved by our ability to follow the law, as he points out vehemently in Galatians 2:21.

God has already provided a way to salvation. The only reason it will ever be denied, is by rejecting Jesus Christ and denying He lived and died for us. What we gain if we accept this gift, is unconditional love, grace, freedom and salvation. The law isn’t negated, but it is not what guarantees us a place in heaven. This is the most important truth that everyone should have the opportunity to accept or deny. This is a gift that cannot be earned through compliance. God does not show favoritism.
He offers opportunity after opportunity for us to seek Him, find Him, choose Him, and trust Him. It is a delusion that anyone is too far fallen to find their way to Him. His love is limitless, despite our carelessness. He is ever patient and kind, waiting silently for us to speak to Him. With a hope for acceptance and trust, He loves us so much more than we could ever earn or imagine. His patience beyond comprehension.

Trusting the fulfillment of God’s plan without having a foundational understanding can be difficult, but I promise you, unimaginable joy comes from knowing and choosing Him. Through the most difficult trials and failures, the constant beacon of light has been Him. He has never left me. He has never failed me, He has never stopped loving me. Even at my worst. My most lost and broken. He has always known the intent of my heart and the character of my being. He has shown me that redemption exists and restoration is possible.
We must recognize our need for a savior, and understand that the gift of grace, grants us freedom that can only come from Him. There is an urgency to open eyes, minds, hearts and spirits. Promises are being fulfilled and He is patiently waiting for us to return to Him. The end of the story is coming faster than we realize. The truth is available for all to find. The gift available for all to receive. Abounding in love, he accepted the punishment we deserve.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 (NIV)
